Animax Entertainment and Uplugged TV have partnered to launch Animax Unplugged, a joint venture studio for developing branded digital content for the desktop and mobile Web.
Los
Angeles-based Animax develops Webisodes, virtual worlds and other online content for clients like ESPN, Kodak and Ty (parent company of Beanie Babies), while Toronto-based Unplugged TV's roster
includes American Express and Schick. Together, the two companies' new Animax Unplugged division will produce interactive campaigns and original content that that includes casual games, Facebook and
iPhone applications and widgets.
"Brands are well-aware that traditional advertising tactics are losing effectiveness. Animax Unplugged creates the perfect union by melding entertainment,
branding, and interactive experiences," says Animax COO Tim Jones.
