In the second major shakeup inside Aegis Group in as many weeks, Mainardo de Nardis has stepped down as CEO of Aegis Media, the unit overseeing the London-based holding company's media operations,
including Carat, Isobar, Posterscope and Vizeum. The move follows the April 22 announcement that David Verklin would step down as CEO of Aegis Media Americas at year end.
Aegis did not
disclose a reason for de Nardis' departure, but said Jerry Buhlmann has been named to succeed him as CEO of Aegis Media, and would join he board of Aegis on June 2.
Buhlmann, 48, has been CEO of
Aegis Media EMEA, responsible for 32 national markets. From 2000 to 2003, he served as CEO of Carat International, responsible for Aegis Media's international clients. In 1989, he founded UK media
agency BBJ, which was acquired by Aegis in 1999. He started his career at Young & Rubicam, before moving to WCRS.
