'Smackdown': MyNetwork TV Goes To The Mat

wwe smackdownIn looking to give a boost to its new wrestling series, MyNetworkTV will tout its new "WWE Smackdown" series by airing WWE's big annual pay-per-view show "WrestleMania."

"WrestleMania" is WWE's major event of the year, and a replay of the event comes to broadcast TV for the first time on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m.

"WrestleMania XXIV," the highest-grossing live event for the WWE, took place on March 30 in Orlando, Florida.

The premiere of "WWE SmackDown" starts the next night, Friday, Oct. 3, at 8:00 p.m. "Smackdown" had been on the CW for the last two seasons, and on UPN for many years before. Both networks ran it on Friday nights.

The "WrestleMania" airing will include segments from the fight featuring champion boxer Floyd Mayweather vs. WWE wrestler Big Show.
