Scripps Networks has selected Bob Baskerville to lead DIY Do-It-Yourself network, the channel said Tuesday. Baskerville replaces former DIY President Jim Zarchin, who will move into senior management
with the Shop At Home Network. Zarchin was in charge of DIY since it launched more than three years ago.
Baskerville had been senior vice president of production for Scripps Productions, a
television production unit that serves DIY, HGTV, Food Network and Fine Living. Baskerville is a 20-year veteran of the broadcast and cable industry. In nine years with Scripps Productions, he oversaw
the production of Restore America, White House Christmas, The Best Of and Food Finds. The network said Baskerville's group played a large role in the development of DIY, including creating a portion
of the programs that make up DIY's Weekends on Weeknights programming block. "Bob brings to DIY strong process and management skills. His experience with all facets of cable and broadcast television
programming undoubtedly will prove valuable to the network and staff during this critical growth period," said Ed Spray, president of the Scripps Networks.
