OVAB Builds Momentum, Adds 6 New Members

CNN Airport NetThe Out-of-home Video Advertising Bureau continues to gain strength with today's announcement that six more place-based networks and manufacturers are joining the organization.

OVAB, which brings video networks together with advertisers and researchers, wants to create a universal metric for out-of-home video audiences.

The new members are: NBC Everywhere, CNN Airport Network, PumpTop TV, Ripple, EnQii and Danoo.

NBC Everywhere includes place-based networks owned by NBC or partnered with the broadcaster, reaching gas stations, supermarkets, fitness centers, taxicabs and college campuses. PumpTop TV operates video displays in gas pumps. Ripple's network gives advertisers access to local retail locations, like coffee shops and fast-food restaurants, while Danoo also targets customers at local retail establishments. On the manufacturer side, EnQii builds, installs and helps to operate various kinds of digital signage hardware and software.

With the addition of NBC Everywhere, OVAB now counts two out of three big broadcast networks as members; CBS Outernet joined in April. Like NBC Everywhere, CBS Outernet includes a mix of properties owned by the broadcaster and independent partners.

An added boost: OVAB also has three main gas station networks, with PumpTop TV joining rival Gas Station TV. The third player, the Fuelcast Network, is part of the NBC Everywhere network.
