Internet Broadcasting, known for developing Web sites for TV stations, is launching a new tool that enables publishers to add polling and discussion features to sites. Meredith Publishing and NYCtv
are among the first to use the service, dubbed "Slantly."
The move also marks an expansion for Internet Broadcasting beyond managing TV station sites to offering a range of products
and services for all Web publishers. Slantly is the first of the new tools it plans to introduce.
The software allows publishers to design custom polls, create forums inviting discussion and
opinions, and segment audiences demographically, among other things. "Slantly gives Web publishers the ability to take the news of the day and turn it into an opinion-driven forum that engages their
visitors and keeps them coming back for more," said David Lebow, president and CEO of Internet Broadcasting, in a statement.
CNN, Cox Television and Hearst-Argyle Television are among top company
clients.
