Mike Jackson, former General Motors VP/advertising and marketing, is on the move again. The executive, who left the automaker last year, took the CEO spot at Birmingham, Mich.-based computer
graphics company Speedshape in late December. A source says he is now leaving Speedshape because it wasn't a good fit.
Jackson, who at GM controlled a $2 billion-plus ad budget, left
the company in June 2007, after seven years. He consulted for Speedshape before being hired there.
Also at Speedshape is another GM veteran, Chris Hamer, who was Cadillac's director of
advertising, sales and promotions until 2004. Before joining Speedshape as SVP/sales and marketing, Hamer was, among other things, SVP/strategic marketing at Sony Music Entertainment Inc. in New
York.
