MeasureCast, Inc. today reported that Web radio stations are streaming more hours of programming than ever before.
During the week of April 8, the MeasureCast
Internet Radio Listening Index -- a representation of the trend in Total Time Spent Listening (TTSL) across a spectrum of online stations measured by MeasureCast - increased 9%. Since Jan. 6, 2002,
the index has risen 99%. And since January 2001, the index has increased 563%.
Clear Channel Worldwide-owned JazzFM held on to the top spot in the MeasureCast Top 25 ranking of Internet radio
stations during the week of April 8. JazzFM streamed 306,125 hours of programming to 75,109 listeners. That's up from the 227,020 hours JazzFM delivered to an audience of 63,223 during the first week
of January. Virgin Radio, The New York Times' WQXR-FM, and Classic Radio Inc.'s KING-FM finished the week two, three and four respectively. Sixteen of the MeasureCast Top 25 stations experienced an
increase in the total number of hours streamed, and 15 stations saw an increase in audience size, or cume.
Top Internet Radio Networks
The Clear Channel Worldwide network of on-line radio
stations held on to its number one ranking by streaming a total of 1,488,503 hours - 49,852 fewer hours than the network streamed the week prior. Radio Free Virgin, Warp Radio, and Virgin Radio
finished second, third and fourth respectively. In addition, the Citadel Interactive Network (10) made its debut appearance in the MeasureCast Top 10 Internet Radio Networks ranking.

75% of all listening occurred between 5 a.m. Pacific and 5 p.m. Pacific 11% of the week's Internet radio listening took place over the weekend. The
peak listening day was Tuesday, April 9, with 19% of all listening occurring this day. 28% of Internet radio listeners were between the ages of 25 and 34. 57% were younger than 35, 29% were
younger than 25, and 7% were older than 55. In the U.S., 33% of listeners reside in the South; 29% live in the West. 70% of listeners were men; 30% were women. Top streaming nations
include the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan and Mexico.
