Dudes drink bud light. the "Dude"
campaign located them via a microsite that linked to a viral mobile feature, and a social network application. The campaign launched with tv ads starring a man whose sole response was "Dude."
From dudemadness.com, users could send their friends a "Call of the Dude;" the friend would hear "Dude," then receive a text designed to make him chuckle. The site had nearly 146,000 unique
visitors and more than 309,000 page views. "Call of the Dude" scored 12,600 calls, 26 percent more than the goal. On Facebook, users downloaded a viral "Check Your Dudeness" quiz more than
201,000 times.
