The web certainly faces no immediate shortage of food blogs, but epicurious.com's relaunch of Epi Log this summer as a high-quality group blog was a welcome add. Writers include wine critic Natalie MacLean, journalist Michael Y. Park and novelist Neal Pollack, who relates stories of family life and food. It's not all high-brow, either: Odd tidbits include a photo of a sexual harassment cake and a collection of videos that begins with "Western Spaghetti: Rubik's Cube and Pick- Up Sticks Recipe." Mix in quizzes, polls and food festival news, and you get a blog that significantly enriches the site's editorial voice and allows for interactivity far beyond recipe advice.
