CBS Interactive filed a federal lawsuit in Minneapolis last week to clarify who can use the statistics that underlie online fantasy football leagues on ESPN.com, Yahoo Sports and other Web sites.
The complaint claims the NFL Players Association has threatened to sue the company if it does not pay licensing fees for the statistics. CBS is asking for a ruling that the players
cannot control use of the publicly available numbers and cannot demand that CBS pay for their use.--Tanya Irwin
