Wal-Mart Woos Hispanic Students With Web Site

  • September 11, 2008
To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, Wal-Mart has launched a Web site aimed at Hispanic students, which links information and resources on higher education and school funding.

AhorraMasViveMejor.com will lead users to such resources as loan information, scholarships, colleges and applications, and will highlight past Wal-Mart scholarship winners. Those winners will also be featured in its ad campaign, as well as its Viviendo magazine.

The company also says it will highlight suppliers "that have displayed a commitment to education and whose products are popular with Hispanic customers," including Kimberly-Clark, P&G, Colgate-Palmolive, Maybelline, and Coca-Cola, in its Spanish-language circulars.--Sarah Mahoney
