Change.org Starts Blog Network

  • October 9, 2008
Change.org has launched a blog network built around social issues including global warming, genocide and human rights. Each blog is run by an expert in their field and includes interactive tools to help mobilize people to take action.

To that end, Change.org has partnered with more than 2,000 nonprofits, from Amnesty International to World Wildlife Fund, to help identify the best ways for those interested in a particular cause to get involved. The timing of the launch is aimed at capitalizing on voter involvement and volunteerism surrounding the presidential election and channeling that enthusiasm into social action after Nov. 4.

"Today we see millions of people across America passionate about change and getting involved in the presidential campaigns to help realize that goal," said Change.org Founder and CEO Ben Rattray. "This is incredibly exciting, but what happens after the election?" With its more than a dozen new blogs focused on different causes, his group plans to fill the void.--Mark Walsh
