Monday night gave NBC some slightly better news for its closely watched prime-time shows.

"Heroes" and "Chuck" perked up some. "Heroes" grew 5% to a 4.2/10 from the week before. On Monday, Nielsen released seven days worth of DVR playback ratings; the show gained 42% in these ratings to just over a 6.0 for its premiere episode. Other big shows also had major 30% and 40% gains with DVR playback.

"Chuck" held the same Nielsen 2.3 rating/6 share among 18-49 viewers it did the week before, but picked up in overall viewers to a 6.0 million from 5.8 million the week before.

But the most-viewed show of the evening was NBC's new "My Own Worst Enemy," which took in a not-bad, not-great, 3.0/8 number--ahead of ABC's "Boston Legal" at a 2.1/8 and behind CBS' "CSI: Miami," which won the time period at 10 p.m. This gave NBC a tie for second place with ABC at a 3.2/8 for the night.

CBS remained solid for the night, winning with a 4.0/10, the same numbers as the previous week. It claimed the best-rated show of the night, a 5.3/12 for "Two and a Half Men"--two-tenths of a rating point better than the show's performance a week ago. The network's "Worst Week" even showed some improvement, rising to a 3.3/8 from a 3.0/7.

ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" dropped to a 4.0/10 from a 4.3/11 the week before. ABC's "Samatha Who?" enjoyed good results when it debuted a year ago; now it only mustered a 3.1/7 in its season debut, coming in second to CBS' "Worst Week" in the 9:30 to 10 p.m. time period.

Fox earned a modest 2.4/6 for Major League Baseball's League Championship Series game between the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers. CW posted consistent and sturdy numbers for new episodes of "Gossip Girl" (a 1.6/4) and for "One Tree Hill" (1.7/4).
