Google and Yahoo this weekend proposed curtailing their search agreement in hopes of persuading the Department of Justice to approve the pact, according to
The Wall Street Journal. The
companies have offered to limit their agreement to two years, instead of 10, the
Journal reports, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter.
The companies are also promising that
marketers will be able to veto having their search ads appear on Yahoo. In addition, they have agreed that the revenue from the deal will not total more than 25% of Yahoo's total search
revenue.--Wendy Davis
