Content syndication service SplashCast has partnered with radio broadcasting group Entercom Communications to go live with SplashCast technology on the Web sites of 70 music radio
stations.
The deal is part of a strategic Entercom initiative to provide listeners of its music stations with more local content, more ways to interact with one another online, and
the ability to easily share content on social networks such as Facebook and MySpace.
Starting this week, Entercom will roll out what are called SplashCast micro-channels--virtual, embeddable,
interactive TVs--on the Web sites of its music stations.
The first to launch is Z104 in Norfolk, VA. Entercom's music radio stations will use the micro-channels to serve up original, regularly
updated local content, including video coverage of events and concerts, exclusive interviews, photos, music and news.--Gavin O'Malley
