Feds Move DTV Transition Date To June

Both Democrats and Republicans have agreed that June 12 is the new DTV transition date, per various bills in the House and Senate. A Senate bill set other deadlines: Sept. 15 for converter box coupons and Feb. 15 for the FCC to devise a strategy for bidders that won TV spectrum at auction to gain access. Broadcasters would not be required to remain in analog until June; stations ready to switch to digital could. If they can't afford to air two signals, they would not be required to.
