The National Academy of Television
Arts and Sciences has a new leader--former NBC executive Frank J. Radice has been named president and chief marketing officer.
Radice had been executive vice president of
advertising and promotion for The NBC Agency--NBC Universal's marketing arm--in New York from 2002 to 2008. Radice will oversee sales, sponsorship and marketing deals for the New York-based TV
business organization.
While based at NBC, Radice was responsible for a number of marketing efforts, including "The Today Show" promotional Internet site "Where in the World is Matt
Lauer?"--which has been an ongoing "Today Show" segment sponsored by Hyundai Motors.
Radice also headed up business development for Petside.com, a NBC Universal and Procter & Gamble
partnership. He was also responsible for marketing efforts across a number of NBC Entertainment programs from 1996 to 2005: NBC News productions, "Saturday Night Live," "Late Night with Conan
O'Brien," specials and Universal Media Studios syndicated programs. Radice also oversaw the advertising and promotion of MSNBC on cable.
Early in his career, Radice worked as a journalist for
ABC News and CNN. He was also a songwriter, writing musical themes for NBC shows.
