Rob Emrich is a serial entrepreneur, currently involved in his latest venture as the CEO of Gimbal. He co-founded The Mobile Majority, a mobile advertising technology company (before acquiring Gimbal in 2016) and has founded and served as chief executive of six startups and social ventures, including Road of Life (distributed $70M+ curriculum), BULX (acquired by DealYard.com 2011), Boundaryless Brands (acquired 2011) and SpeakerSite. Rob received a scholarship to attend The Ohio State University Honors Program and graduated with Research Distinction with a degree in Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Science and Reason.

What a mess. The advertising industry has been reduced to a whirling, swirling deluge of tech vendors. Each fulfills one, or maybe two, needs at a time. So many black-box vendors smashing technologies
together to run a single ad campaign is causing problems. Costs rise as performance wallows in mediocrity. Viewability, fraud and brand safety remain sore subjects. And when things fail, no one knows
who to blame, because no one really knows who's doing what.

Would it really be that irresponsible to say that all content is equal? If you're using data to fuel your programmatic ad buying, and that data is deterministically telling us that person A is interested in product A, and that person happens to be on a random app that no one has heard of... then who cares? We're in an age of data over content - audience over content.
