  • Deutsch Inc. has hired five new employees across various agency departments. DEBORAH MEISSNER (left) has joined the company as Vice President, Account Director, and previously worked at Foote, Cone & Belding in New York, where she had developed multiple eCRM programs as well as digital and direct marketing components for Samsung, Clairol and Cablevision. STEPHEN MURPHY has been named Vice President, Customer and Data Strategy, and is focusing on Deutsch clients like Burger King, MCI, Novartis and Starwood Hotels. Murphy was most recently Director of Database Marketing at Modem Media where he was responsible for tracking and analyzing online programs for clients such as Delta Air Lines and Enterprise Rent-A-Car. JENNIFER RYAN was appointed Vice President, Account Director and will work on the Novartis account at Deutsch. Ryan came to Deutsch from Grey Worldwide, where she was Vice President, Management Supervisor. MICHELLE SANDERS (right) was named Vice President, Account Director, and joins the MCI team at Deutsch. Most recently, Sanders served as Partner, Account Director at J. Walter Thompson, and was in charge with overseeing strategic communications development for Lysol. Lastly, TASHA SPACE was named Vice President, Account Planning and will work on Snapple and Novartis accounts. Space was formerly Vice President, Strategic Services at BBDO where she designed creative briefs for clients such as The Campbell Soup Company, HBO, MasterFoods and Pharmacia.

  • The Broadcast Productions Department at Deutsch Inc. in New York has also made some promotional changes. BRUCE ANDREINI, KAREN LEIPER, and NICOLE LUNDY have been named Senior Producers, promoted from Producers. Andreini has previously worked on a wide variety of accounts at Deutsch, including Verizon SuperPages, IKEA and Pfizer's Zyrtec and Zoloft brands. Prior to Deutsch Leiper worked at Korey Kay and Partners on Celebrity Cruises, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and Comedy Central. Lundy joined Deutsch in 1995 and has worked on clients including Almay, Snapple, Mitchum, Novartis' Zelnorm and GNC. Prior to Deutsch she worked at BWA.

  • ANN SIEGEL has joined time & SPACE, a media buying service in Los Angeles, as VP/General Manager. Siegel began her career at FCB, and has also worked at Warwick Advertising and then at O&M. Most recently, she worked at MediaVest running the DirecTV account.

  • Euro RSCG announced the appointment of JODI COPPERNOLL as Director of Business Development. Coppernoll's responsibilities include directing the business development process for Tatham Partners and working closely with business development leaders in each of the agency’s offices. She will also serve as a key liaison with the Euro RSCG Worldwide network business. Most recently, Coppernoll was Director of Business Development at Kirshenbaum and Bond.

  • Tribal DDB has hired FRITZ KUEHN and DAVID JOHNSON as director of production technologies and technical project manager, respectively. Both former executives at DreamLab, Kuehn is in charge with identifying emerging technologies and forging strategic partnerships with technology providers. Johnson will help support clients with DreamLab's content distribution tools. At DreamLab, Johnson acted as a liaison between clients and development, technical and graphic design teams, and as an information designer between the client and client's customers.

  • Initiative Media Worldwide announced that DAVID ERNST has been promoted to executive vice president, director of Futures & Technologies. Ernst previously held the position of senior vice president, director of IM Solutions. Ernst will lead the company's research team in the development and deployment of proprietary research initiatives providing clients with a distinct advantage in today's dynamic media environment. Ernst joined Initiative Media in August 2001 after TN Media merged with Initiative Media. Prior to joining TN Media in 1997, he served as senior vice president, associate director of research and strategic media insights at Young & Rubicam.

  • WebSideStory announced the appointment of JEFFREY W. LUNSFORD as president and chief executive officer. Most recently, Lunsford was president and CEO of TogetherSoft Corp. Lunsford succeeds JOHN J. HENTRICH, who served as president and CEO of the company from December 1999 until Lunsford's appointment.

  • MEL GREVE and NESO MALINOVIC have joined Kelly, Scott & Madison as Vice President/Broadcast Director and Associate Media Director respectively. Greve was formerly Broadcast Director at Initiative Media for three years, and she also held the position of Broadcast Supervisor at both Initiative Media and EURO RSCG Tatham/Chicago. Malinovic was formerly with Mindshare and Ogilvy & Mather.

  • The Advertising Council announced that BARBARA SHIMAITIS has joined the organization as Senior Vice President, Interactive Services. Shimaitis will lead the development of the Ad Council's new Interactive Services Department and manage the organization's Internet operations, including the development and management of adcouncil.org. Prior to joining the Ad Council, Shimaitis served as a partner at Fergus O'Daly Associates, where she established an Internet consulting services firm with a focus on marketing, brand development, website strategy, design and development.

  • Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive (WPNI) announced that CAROLINE LITTLE has been named president and chief operating officer of the company. Little, who has served as COO for the last three years, will now oversee all of the company’s business operations, including advertising sales, Jobs, Cars and Real Estate and other transaction services. Little joined WPNI in 1997 as general counsel. Prior to joining WPNI, Little was deputy general counsel at U.S. News & World Report, The Atlantic Monthly and Fast Company. The company also announced that MARY MOSLANDER will assume the new role of vice president, strategy and product development. In this role, Moslander will lead washingtonpost.com’s product development and guide company-wide business projects. Moslander will also oversee WPNI’s overall strategic planning efforts. Lastly, WPNI announced that LIDDY MANSON, who most recently served as WPNI’s vice president, strategy and human resources, will now serve as the vice president and general manager, Jobs, Cars and Real Estate. Manson, who has been with WPNI since 1997, has been responsible for the company’s strategic planning for two years and previously led the company’s marketing, sales and business development efforts.

  • DraftWorldwide Chicago has hired KATE CALDWELL as director of strategic planning, focusing on direct marketing. From 2001 until present, Caldwell served as SVP, director of strategic planning at Vero LLC, Chicago. Prior to that, Caldwell spent four years as SVP, director of strategic planning and research for FCBi, where she innovated account planning techniques for clients such as Gatorade and Nestlé.

  • JOHN P. MANOS, President and Chief Executive Officer of DKB and Partners was inducted into the 2003 New Jersey Advertising Club Hall of Fame on March 27. A prestigious award honoring individuals who have contributed significantly to the advertising profession in New Jersey through their creativity, Manos joined DKB and Partners in 1992 as Senior Vice President of Client Services. He was named President and CEO in 1996.

  • NOAH ROBINSON has recently accepted a position as Advertising Sales Executive for Choice Media. Prior to working as a business development and marketing consultant, Robinson was with Beyond Interactive where he oversaw GlaxoSmithKline’s Consumer Healthcare interactive planning/buying efforts, served as Regional Media Director and co-founder of Beyond Interactive’s Brazil office. Robinson will be responsible for agency relationships and accounts for Choice Media.

  • MORE magazine announced that JULIE GRAHAM has been named Special Events Director. Most recently, Graham served as Events Marketing Manager at DoubleClick, Inc. She has also served as Director of Events at Save the Date. Danielle Yuen has been named Promotions Director. Prior to joining MORE, Yuen served as Marketing Manager at Primedia's Teen Internet Group. She has also served as Marketing Manager at Parade Publications. Lastly, LEE BOWLES has been promoted to Account Manager. Bowles was previously a sales assistant at MORE.

  • STEVE FAWTHROP has joined World Trade magazine as National Accounts Director. Fawthrop formerly worked as Advertising Sales Manager/West for USA Today's International Edition.

  • Arbitron has announced the addition of JOHN KUYASA to the new position of national accounts manager, Arbitron Advertiser Marketing Services. Kuyasa will be responsible for selling and servicing major advertiser accounts in the Southeast. Kuyasa joins Arbitron from Spectra Marketing where he worked as director, client services.

  • DVC Worldwide, has announced the creation of a new company branch, called DVC Co-Marketing. MICKEY JARDON will be the executive vice president, managing director of the new practice area. Jardon has held positions at General Foods, PepsiCo and MCA, and founded MGR (now Marketing Drive), a pioneer in the retail-marketing arena.

  • DREW SNIDER has been named general manager of CCH's sales and use tax group (STG) on an interim basis. Snider is currently the publisher for the Consumer Media Group (CMG). He joined CCH in 1996 as the director of Sales and Marketing for CCH's Small Office / Home Office group and was the former COO of Standard Rate and Data Service.
