  • The Weather Channel has named KAYE ZUSMANN vice president of program strategy and development. Zusmann will devise long-term programming strategies for TWC while creating new content for TWC and its sister platforms. For the past two years, Zusmann was a programming consultant for several cable networks.


  • Heavy.com has tapped ALEX GREEN to run Heavy.com’s new mobile content division, naming him senior vice president and general manager. Prior to joining Heavy.com, Green spent five years at Mforma, where he served as senior vice president, business development and as vice president, sales.


  • Enlighten has hired JOHN P. GRAY as director of interactive marketing, a newly created position. Gray will manage and grow Enlighten’s interactive marketing practice that includes online advertising, search engine marketing, e-mail marketing and viral marketing campaigns. Gray joins Enlighten from JWT in Detroit where, since 2002, he has been a partner and associate communications director managing the team responsible for digital media planning for Ford Division, Bosch Automotive, Domino’s, Shell, and White Castle.


  • GARY STEIN has joined BuzzMetrics as director of client services in San Francisco. Most recently, Stein covered online advertising and marketing, and also focused on the consumer-packaged goods industry at Jupiter Research.


  • Loyalty Lab has named CHUCK DAVIS, chairman of shopping search engine Shopzilla, to its board of directors.


  • Dow Jones & Company has named RICHARD F. ZANNINO chief executive officer, elevated from executive vice president and chief operating officer. As chief executive officer, he will oversee all of the Company’s business units and staff departments and will report to the Dow Jones board of directors. PETER R. KANN, the Company’s chairman and chief executive officer since 1991, will continue as chairman until 2007.


  • Setanta Sports North America has named former Fox Sports Net and BSkyB executive, SIMON GREEN as chief executive, North America. Green oversees the TV network Setanta Sports and Setanta Premium, the commercial business that handles residential Pay-per-View and special television events at pubs, clubs and other venues.


  • JEFF BONASIA has joined Hill, Holliday as senior vice president and account director managing the Dunkin’ Donuts business. Most recently, he served as senior vice president and group account director at Arnold Worldwide in Boston.


  • HOWARD POLL has been named general manager of Briggs & Riley Travelware. Poll will lead the company's expansion into the International market when the travelware line debuts in the UK in March.


  • SHERRIE HOLLIDAY has been named senior media buyer for St. John & Partners Advertising & Public Relations. Holliday will negotiate and execute television and radio buys for the firm's Southern Ford Dealers, Zaxby's and Clearwire accounts. She joins St. John & Partners from Keating Magee where she worked as a media supervisor.


  • Wexley School for Girls has hired BRYAN CHACKEL as an art director. Currently, Chackel is working on Washington Mutual Bank, Microsoft, Photoworks.com and Nike accounts.


  • St. John & Partners Advertising & Public Relations has named SHAWN PARKS as associate media director. Parks will direct the agency’s Clearwire and Vistakon media planning teams.  He comes to St. John & Partners from Kelly, Scott & Madison, where he was planning supervisor for the firm’s Greater Miami CVB, Kissimmee CVB, Mississippi Gulf Coast CVB, Peabody Hotels and AdvantageCare accounts. 


  • MARTHA STEWART selected “Apprentice” candidate DAWNA STONE to become the director of development of Body + Soul, a magazine providing "how-to" and inspiration for healthy, natural living. Stone is founder and publisher of Her Sports, a magazine for sports-oriented women. In her new position, Stone will focus on new business development for the magazine, tasked with growing national advertising programs and creating additional revenue streams.


  • Future US, Inc., a publisher of games, computing, action sports and musician magazines, has named JIM SCHIEKOFER as director of corporate sales. Schiekofer will lead Future’s non-endemic sales and marketing team. Schiekofer joins the company from Reader’s Digest, where he served as group publisher since 2001.


  • Briggs & Riley Travelware and U.S. Luggage have named KEVIN HAGEN director of special markets sales. Hagan will be responsible for all special market sales for both brands.


  • ROB SIMMELKJAER has been named correspondent for the 24-hour news channel “ABC News Now.” Simmelkjaer will anchor the channel’s live coverage and news briefs, in addition to hosting originally-produced shows including “Inside the Newsroom,” “Guilt or Innocence,” and “The Mix.” Prior to joining ABC News, Simmelkjaer worked at ESPN, Inc. as vice president, assistant to the president.


  • GEN MCGLOTHLIN has been promoted from vice president, relationship strategies to president of Giant Head.


  • BRENT WHITNEY has joined Feedster as vice president of engineering. Whitney comes to Feedster from LesConcierges where, as CTO and Co-founder, he focused on delivering CRM solutions to the personal services market.


  • ANTHONY RALLO has been named consumer electronics and spirits director of Stuffmagazine.


  • Q1Media has named ADAM RUMA to handle its West Coast interactive media sales duties. He joins the company from Hollywood Media Corp., and will be responsible for developing business across Q1's suite of properties.


  • PlanetOut has promoted JEFF SOUKUP, most recently executive vice president and chief financial officer, to chief operating officer. Soukup will oversee the growing operations of PlanetOut worldwide, including strategic planning and achieving financial and operational goals.
