OVO Launches New Platform To Champion Sustainability

Energy company OVO has launched a new strategic platform focused on offering sustainable choices that offer economic benefits to users — and protects the planet.

Created by the Wolff Olins agency, the brand platform and design system is supported by OVO’s "Path to Zero" initiative, a road map to reduce and ultimately eliminate carbon emissions. It helps people across the UK to take practical steps to achieve net zero by 2035 via a new customer offering.

The agency built on work by NB Studio, refreshing the brand's squared logo and singular green color. A user-centric motion system brings it to life. It also updated layouts and iconography.

That visual consistency is evident from digital to OOH to partnerships.

The new theme: "Together, we have the power to make energy work for people and the planet." The goal is to inspire people to make small changes en route to significantly reducing our collective carbon footprint.

Francesca Danczak, head of brand at OVO, said the new design is "a brand strategy rooted in a market still facing an energy crisis — with the flex to see us into the next 10 years of our business. In a sea-of-sameness, the redesign helps us to stand out in a way that can truly resonate with customers.”
