Tinder this week debuted its first paid product, Plus, which charges different monthly rates to users based on their regional location and age. “For example, users in some developing countries pay about $2.99 a month while people 30 and older in the United States are charged $19.99 a month,” the Los Angeles Times notes. Tinder Plus also lets users “rewind” if they mis-swipe, along with a “passport” to search for people outside of their respective regions.

Among other suitors, Microsoft is reportedly taking a close look at Prismatic -- an app that suggests news articles to users based on the behavior of people in their social networks. “Microsoft has been busy snatching up startups to fill out its mobile apps portfolio, and it looks like it could be buying one more,” TechCrunch reports. “Microsoft is one among several large companies that are talking to the startup, with the ‘most serious interest’ otherwise coming from Apple and Yahoo.” Google and Facebook are also rumored to have kicked Prismatic’s tires.
