Getting Smarter About Smart Phones, The Experts Define "Smart"

What exactly is a smart phone? Good question asked by mobile panel moderator Steve Smith. The answers were revealing.

Rhythm Media’s Ujjal  Kohli thinks it’s a “laptop compressed into the palm of your hand.”

Nokia’s Jeremy Wright agreed with that sentiment.

MS&L’s Webster Lerwin kind of felt the “key feature in my mind is email.”

For BrandInHand’s Dan Flanegan, it’s the “mobile Web.”

But in my opinion, Genex’s Walter Schild gave the best answer: “With our clients we refer more to users than to devices. If someone is going to use the device for more than phone calls.”

“So, it’s smart users, not smart phones,” moderator Steve Smith surmised.
