Ford Reportedly Wants Dealer Concessions

  • April 23, 2009
The Detroit News reports that Ford wants dealers to make concessions that could save the company $600 million a year. The newspaper reports that Ford wants to cut costs by $300 per vehicle sold in the U.S. over the next five years.

The paper says Ford created two dealer committees last month to figure out cost-cutting. Quoting sources, it says reducing the amount of money that Ford rebates to dealers from each sale, eliminating fuel reimbursements or changing credit terms for the loans that cover dealer inventory are some ways the company sees that money could be saved.--Karl Greenberg
