Shane Gillis, Peyton Manning Return For Bud Light Football Effort

Comedian Shane Gillis and pro football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning are back to kick off football season in the latest campaign from Bud Light.

The centerpiece of the effort is two new spots, “The Move” and “Armchair,” which highlight the lengths the stars will go to score a Bud Light on game day.

In “The Move,” seen here, Manning stands in a packed sports bar, competing with other patrons to get the bartender’s attention. Gillis then slides into the scene, cutting in front of Manning. Eventually Manning recruits other bar-goers to hoist him over the edge of the bar by his legs, earning the bartender’s gaze and securing his Bud Light.

“The NFL season is Bud Light season, and as the league’s official beer sponsor for over two decades, we know firsthand the deep-rooted passion fans have for their team,” said Todd Allen, senior vice president of marketing for Bud Light, in a release. “With two hilarious new commercials featuring Shane and Peyton and our iconic team cans giving fans a chance to upgrade their experience all season, we’re making it fun to fan and celebrating the great lengths fans go to as they do anything for their team – and a Bud Light – on game day.”

In “Armchair,”  seen here, Peyton refuses to give up his prime oversized recliner seat at an NFL home watch party,  eventually crashing through French doors to bring the seat with him to the fridge to get a Bud Light.

The ads run across linear, streaming and digital channels.

The brand also has brought back its limited-edition team cans featuring 27 different retro-inspired styles, along with a scannable QR code that gives customers a chance to win a month of NFL+ Premium, tailgating essentials and NFL tickets, among other prizes.
