TT Games is taking its successful Lego video game characters to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The company announced that it would create LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, based on the successful books and movies. Like other titles created using the Lego characters (such as Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Batman), the game will combine puzzle-based gameplay with lighthearted humor.

"With LEGO® Harry Potter: Years 1-4 we are creating an open, wide-ranging experience within Hogwarts that is full of fun and LEGO magic," said Tom Stone, managing director, TT Games, in a statement. "Harry Potter is one of the most beloved and well-respected characters, and we look forward to bringing gamers a new way of interacting in the universe with the LEGO games' great humor and exploration."

TT Games will develop the game, which will be published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and will be released in 2010.--Aaron Baar
