The article titled ""Traditional Media Drops Exceed Expectations," which ran in MediaDailyNews on Wednesday, June 3rd, incorrectly claimed that magazine ad revenues have never declined more than 25% in any year previous to 2009, using U.S. census data on magazine revenues from the Great Depression to support this assertion. However, the U.S. census figures combined circulation and advertising revenue. In terms of advertising revenue alone, historical data from the Publisher's Information Bureau shows that magazine ad revenues declined 30% in 1932.
