Dish Gains Customers In Second Quarter

Dish Network said its subscriber base increased by 26,000 in the April-June period, bringing it to13.6 million. The satellite operator had lost 94,000 net subscribers in the first quarter.

Some of the new customers may have signed up as the digital transition occurred in mid-June. Dish said its second-quarter revenue was $2.9 billion, a .4% decrease. Profit fell significantly to $63 million from $336 million last year.
