Champion athletic apparel is launching a Mount Everest expedition website, which allows people to submit essays about their own personal "Everest" to compete for $10,000.
The site also
provides plenty of information about Jamie Clarke, the mountaineer Champion is outfitting in his bid to climb the world's highest peak next spring.
"Champion believes we all have mountains to
climb and dreams to fulfill," the company says in its release. Clarke, 41, climbed Everest in 1997, and is scheduled to post inspirational videos about this quest to the site each week. Both Champion
and Duofold, a partner in the cold-weather gear, are owned by Hanesbrands, based in Winston-Salem, N.C.--Sarah Mahoney
