The win is a big vote of confidence for DDS' digital product, because Carat is known to be an especially digital savvy agency. It was the first in the U.S. to integrate its digital and full-service media organizations, and it recently brought digital native Nigel Morris over from its Isobar unit to head up Carat's North American operations.
The new contract also includes DDS' BrandOcean system for agency workflow management,, and covers all of Carat's media agency offices in the U.S.
The deal comes on the heels of another big agency contract renewal, Omnicom Media Group's. On Sept. 28th, DDS announced that OMG had struck a new multi-year agreement with OMG that also included iDesk and BrandOcean.
Both the Omnicom and Aegis deals followed Interpublic's decision to stick with DDS, following a long and fairly public review of media management systems that also included MediaBank.
