Yahoo Ends Silence, Starts Mobile Blog

Y Moblie Blog

Yahoo's been eerily quiet on the mobile front lately, especially in comparison with the moves made by Google and Apple in recent months, buying mobile ad networks, launching mobile devices, and in Google's case, introducing as series of new mobile apps and services.

As if to break the silence, Yahoo last week launched a mobile blog to discuss its mobile business and latest products and offer its take on industry trends and developments. One of the new mobile blog's first posts actually links to a post on demystifying mobile advertising found on the Yahoo Advertising Blog.

At some point, we suspect Yahoo will use the blog to announce a new mobile initiative or two, though it's not clear how soon that will be--maybe something at next week's Mobile World Congress conference in Barcelona? (Google's mobile blog already informed us its AdSense for Mobile Apps team will there and CEO Eric Schmidt will be a keynote speaker.)

In any case, here's the "demystifiying" post

I'm not a fan of Yahoo's search, mail, or messenger offerings and never really have been. So... good for them... I guess?
