Univision Communications is making some executive news and entertainment moves.
Univision network executive vice president and operating manager Alina Falcon has been named to a new position
as president of news for Univision, overseeing news and sports operations across the various Univision networks, the television group and Univision Interactive Media.
Falcon was previously
executive vice president and operating manager of the Univision Network.
Univision Studio's senior executive Luis Fernandez has been named to a new post as president of entertainment for the
Univision Network. He will oversee entertainment programming, promotions and talent relations in addition to continuing to heading up Univision Studios.
Falcon and Fernandez will remain based
in Miami reporting Cesar Conde, president of the Univision Networks.
Other Univision network entertainment heads will continue to report to Conde -- Bert Medina, senior vice presdient and
operating manager of TeleFutura, and Sebastian Trujillo, senior vice president and operating manager of Galavision.
Joe Uva, president and chief executive officer, Univision Communications,
stated: "Under the leadership of Cesar Conde, this new simplified structure will make Univision a stronger, more nimble organization, with a sharpened focus on news and entertainment."
