Toshiba America Melds Units Into One Firm

Toshiba America is combining its Information Systems (which makes laptops) and its Consumer Products (which makes home entertainment products) into one operating company.

The move, according to the company, is intended to take advantage of the continuing digital convergence in the U.S. market.

The Consumer Products company will become a part of the Information Systems' Digital Products Division and will be headquartered in Irvine, Calif. --Aaron Baar
