In order to entice broad audiences to revisit Alice and the world of Wonderland on opening weekend, Disney and agency partner AvatarLabs treated the film's opening as an event to end all events with the copy, "On March 5th, you've got a very important date." Widgets, meanwhile, let users look up show times and purchase tickets directly from the ads. Instead of adjusting creative to fit different layouts, AvatarLabs customized creative to fit with various sites. Seamless borders from page-skins to ad units help to make viewers feel like Wonderland was taking over the Web. The result? The film won its opening weekend bringing in $41 million on opening night.
