Stuart Elliott reports that a new interactive social network on health and wellness subjects will feature contributions from marketers such as Colgate-Palmolive, the Ortho-McNeil-Janssen
Pharmaceuticals division of Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer; Unilever; UnitedHealthcare and Walgreen as well as from organizations such as AARP, the American Heart Association and the American Cancer
Society. The format of Sharecare.com is Q&A.
Sponsor content will bear their names and logos to distinguish its contributions from those of other sources (and add a little branding in
the process).
"It's interesting to see how seriously the brands are taking their answers," says Jeff Arnold, chairman and chief architect at Sharecare and founder of WebMD, because
they know their replies will not be far from those of the experts'. He hopes to have a million answers on the site by the end of the year.
