Larry Dobrow. a long-time fixture on and chronicler of Madison Avenue, died Tuesday of complications related to cancer surgery. Dobrow, who most recently was Chairman-CEO of TSI Animation, an
animation studio based in New York and Sao Paulo, Brazil, as well as a consultant to multinational advertising agencies. He was also a top executive at Bozell Worldwide, the creative editor of
Adweek magazine, founding editor of
Ads magazine, and author of the book "When Advertising Tried Harder: The 60s - The Golden Age of American Advertising." Dobrow, who was in his 80s,
was not related to columnist Larry Dobrow, who has written for MediaPost and other trade publications.
