Patriotic Undies: Scan This

Attorney Marcus Carey started an apparel line last month that sells clothing with patriotic emblems that blur out a person's private parts under the inquiring gaze of airport scanners.

The products, at ScannerShirts.com, include shirts with stars over that fit over women's nipples and emblems on the bottom of kids' shirts that are meant to cover their private parts. The site also sells boxers and undergarments for guys. The attorney says he was inspired to launch the line by stories of people protesting the scanners.

"One story that disturbed me was a mother who was put into a holding cell for hours while officials determined what to do because she refused to go through the scanner and have her breast milk irradiated," he said. "I thought there is a better way to get people through the line, make sure they are not delaying other passengers, not doing anything that amounts to protest, but protecting your privacy." He said the ink recipe is a secret.
