Addressing Addresssable TV

This story in the February issue of Direct Marketing nicely summarizes what's happening on the addressable ad TV front. It explains cable TV and DVR providers' efforts in this area, including Cablevision's launch of addressable ads to subscribers in the New York metro area in late 2010.

The piece also reports that "industry experts" and providers disagree on how quickly this trend will take off. Not surprisingly, it's the providers who say this is the year when interactive TV-based ads will fly.
