McSlarrow Named President, Comcast/NBCU, Washington

Kyle McSlarrow, who recently left as head of the largest cable industry trade group, has joined Comcast in a role that includes operations and public policy. He becomes president, Comcast/ NBCUniversal, Washington in April.  

His role includes heading public policy efforts for the company in Washington. He will lead strategic planning to extend Comcast Business Services at the federal and state government levels.

McSlarrow will report to David L. Cohen, a Comcast executive vice president versed in government relations, while working with both Neil Smit and Steve Burke, who respectively lead Comcast's cable operations and NBCU.

"Kyle has been a tremendous leader and tireless advocate for the cable and media industry in Washington, D.C.," stated Comcast CEO Brian Roberts. "He is widely respected throughout the industry for his leadership, deep understanding of the cable and programming business and ability to manage the interest of a broad spectrum of major corporations."

McSlarrow led the National Cable & Telecommunications Association since 2005. Before that, he was a deputy secretary at the U.S. Department of Energy. He was also the national chairman of the Quayle 2000 Presidential Campaign, while working for several top Republican senators, including Bob Dole.
