NBC Adds 'Community' To Hulu's, Streams Series Online

Community

With the show moving off the schedule and its future uncertain, NBC will make comedy “Community” available on Hulu.

Every episode of the show from its three seasons will be available for Hulu Plus paid subscribers, while users of the free service will be able to watch episodes in the current season the day after broadcast.

Hulu Plus users will be able to view the crop of shows on Internet-connected TVs, gaming consoles and Blu-ray players, among other outlets.

“Community’s ratings have been modest, which is fine with Hulu, since it has the availability to offer content geared toward small, but passionate audiences. We know there is a large contingency of diehard ‘Community’ fans out there -- after all, ‘Community’ has been one of the top-20 shows of all time on Hulu, and was the top-performing comedy in Hulu’s ‘Best in Show’ competition two years running,” Hulu wrote in a blog posting.

So far this season, “Community” is the 68th-highest-rated program among adults 18- to-49-year-olds on broadcast networks, just in front of NBC’s cancelled “Playboy Club.” The comedy, which is not streamed on Netflix, is about “a band of misfits” attending a community college and features Chevy Chase in the cast.
