Al Jazeera English, the international English-language news channel produced and distributed by Arabic news organization Al Jazeera, has crossed the 250 million-subscriber mark, making it one of the most globally distributed channels. The network, which is available in 130 countries, had some significant distribution milestones in 2011, including launches in New York, Chicago, India, Peru, Chile and Mexico, and a significant expansion in Canada.

The channel launched in 2006.
