Meredith Buys Allrecipes.com For $175 Million

Meredith Tuesday announced its acquisition of Allrecipes.com in a transaction valued at $175 million, more doubling the size of the publisher’s Women’s Digital network to 40 million monthly visitors. Meredith said the move fits with its previously stated strategy to acquire national media brands that provide new audiences and digital platforms that increase scale. It plans to invest in Allrecipes.com to optimize the site for its growing online and mobile audience. 

Reader’s Digest Association said in October it was exploring the sale of Allrecipes.com to focus on core brands like Readers’s Digest, Taste of Home, and The Family Handyman.
