Asked if and when they buy products directly off of Facebook, Stephen Chavez, one of the non-insders on the consumer panel organized by Daniel Cooper of Ball State University at the Social Media
Insider Summit, quipped, “You just blew my mind.”
Chavez implied that he had no idea that marketers even offer the opportunity to purchase their products via Facebook, but seemed
pretty keen on the prospects of doing that.
“That’s convenience right there,” he said. “I could just buy things and wait.”
Asked if he might be concerned
about the privacy aspects of transacting via Facebook, Chavez added, “That’s a good point. Facebook does share information. Who knows what they’re keeping track of? What if
they’re keeping track of my credit card?”
What if, indeed.
