Twitter's Costolo: 'We're Bigger Than The Cannes Lions'

Twitter CEO Dick Costolo got his Cannes Lions presentation off on a bizarre start: Implying that Twitter had a bigger impact on the Cannes Lions than the Cannes Lions do.

“These two works behind me are the event we are all participating in and experiencing together this week,” Costolo said, tossing his thumb over his shoulder toward the presentation screen.

“#CannesLions is the shared experience, the global, two-way conversation that starts before this event, continues on during this event, and after his event, and everyone in the world participates in it.”
