Texting App Extends Ad Options

  • July 6, 2012

Pinger, maker of the popular texting app Textfree, has expanded the ad options for its upgraded "Pinger" for free texting and calling. The new ad unit is a 300 x 250 banner that pops up after someone sends a text message. It remains in view until the user dismisses the ad, starts another text message, or goes to another screen. The company is still testing how frequently to display the new "medium banner' format. Across its apps for iOS and Android, Pinger says it has 25 million users and 10% reach of all U.S. teens and young adults. The ad-supported apps offer other standard and rich media banner units, screen takeovers, and sponsored messages.
