Digital Albums Are 34% Of All Album Sales In UK

Digital album sales in the UK have hit the 100-million milestone as consumer spending continues to shift away from physical CDs to online downloads. According to new data released by the Official Charts Company and the BPI, digital albums now account for 34% of overall album sales, with demand for chart-topping artists Adele and Ed Sheeran driving this increase. This is a stark contrast to 2006, when records of digital sales began and album downloads made up just 1.8% of overall sales.
