Analysts estimate the enterprise services division is worth for between $1.5 billion and $2.5 billion, and news of a potential bid from IBM boosted RIM shares by 9% in early trading. The
enterprise services division is now viewed as by far RIM’s most valuable operational asset. Many IT departments still favour BlackBerry Enterprise Server, the software which delivers emails to
millions of suit pockets, over rivals because of its superior security features.
