Ted Sarandos, who is the Chief Content Officer of Netflix, defended the company from accusations that is is paying “uneconomically high” rates in the U.K. video-on-demand
market, according to the Guardian. Sarandos informed the MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival that his company is ready to pay a “tremendous amount of money” for
exclusive rights for the showing of popular films and TV shows.
