Hmm, Buy A Car Or Have Appendix Removed With Corkscrew...?

No surprise that people rank buying a car right up there with having bad outpatient surgery as one of their least favorite experiences. NPR talks to economist Fiona Scott Morton about why nobody has figured out a better way. For example, why can't you go to a car department store where you can shop for vehicles from different automakers? Why aren't there real prices? It's not from lack of consumer demand.
